Frequently asked questions
Is this full RAW development?
No — it uses the full-size preview the camera saved with its own settings. For manual development (white balance, recovering highlights) use a RAW editor such as darktable or Lightroom.
Why is the JPG smaller than my camera’s resolution?
A few older cameras store only a reduced preview. Most cameras from the last ten years store it at full resolution.
Is it free?
Yes. Browser tools on PhotoTools are free, unlimited and work without an account.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device, and nothing is stored.
